CM Yogi Adityanath Addresses Kanwar Yatra Security and Public Conduct
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a stern warning against "anti-social elements" who he claims are attempting to tarnish the sanctity of the ongoing Kanwar Yatra. Speaking at a public function in the Shamli district, the Chief Minister emphasized that while the state government remains committed to the safety and comfort of pilgrims, unruly behavior will not be tolerated.
The remarks were made during an event where the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several significant development projects in the region. According to a report by the Times of India, the administration is prioritizing a peaceful atmosphere for all participants throughout the duration of the pilgrimage.
Government Commitment to Pilgrims
Highlighting the state's efforts to facilitate the annual event, CM Yogi noted that the government has implemented comprehensive security measures and logistical arrangements for the Kanwar pilgrims. He asserted that the current environment allows the Yatra to proceed without interference, marking a shift in the operational landscape of the pilgrimage.
"Today, no one stops the Kanwar Yatra. It is progressing peacefully and with enthusiasm," CM Yogi stated, as quoted by the news agency PTI. He further added that the state government stands firmly with the kanwariyas, noting that both the local administration and specialized security forces are actively engaged in serving the devotees.
Ensuring Order During the Yatra
The Chief Minister’s address served as both a message of support for the pilgrims and a caution to those who might engage in disruptive activities. By explicitly labeling those causing disturbances as "anti-social elements," the government is signaling a zero-tolerance policy toward any actions that could compromise the security or the religious spirit of the Yatra. Authorities continue to monitor the routes to ensure that the influx of pilgrims is managed efficiently while maintaining law and order across the state.
