Steps to Download the MHT CET 2026 Provisional Merit List
Accessing the provisional merit list securely and efficiently requires candidates to follow a precise set of digital steps. Official announcements and rank lists are hosted directly on the authorized portals managed by the state testing agency. Applicants should ensure they have their login credentials, such as their application ID and password, readily available before attempting to access the portal.
By navigating to cetcell.mahacet.org, students can securely view and download their respective score evaluations. It is strongly advised to save a digital copy of the merit list document and print out the rank card for future reference throughout the physical reporting and college admission stages.
Handling Discrepancies: The Objection and Correction Window
Finding an error in personal details, category data, or normalized marks on the provisional merit list can be a stressful experience for any student. Fortunately, the MHT CET Cell provides a dedicated grievance redressal window for candidates to submit corrections. Running from July 22 to July 23, 2026, this short timeframe requires immediate action if any discrepancies are identified.
Candidates must submit their objections through their candidate login dashboards by providing valid supporting documents for verification. Failing to rectify mistakes during this window will result in the erroneous data being carried over to the final merit list. Once the correction period concludes, authorities will review the inputs and publish the definitive rankings on July 27, 2026.
What Lies Ahead: Choice Filling and Seat Allotment
Following the successful publication of the final merit list, candidates will transition into the much-anticipated choice-filling phase of the counseling process. During this stage, students will log into the portal to select their preferred colleges and engineering or professional courses in order of priority. Strategic choice filling is vital, as it directly influences the likelihood of securing admission to top-tier institutions.
Subsequent rounds of seat allotment will be conducted based on merit, seat availability, category reservations, and the choices locked by the candidates. Students must remain proactive, check regular portal updates, and prepare their documents for eventual physical verification and college reporting to finalize their academic future.
