Tragedy in Uttar Pradesh: Constable Dies by Suicide Following Allegations of Harassment
A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Uttar Pradesh, where a young police constable allegedly died by suicide while on patrol duty. According to a report by the Times of India, the constable had recently joined the force and was struggling with severe health issues in the days leading up to his death.
Before the tragedy occurred, the constable purportedly recorded a chilling audio message. In this recording, he directly accused three of his colleagues of systemic harassment and the persistent denial of his requests for medical leave. The officer had reportedly been suffering from severe abdominal pain, which he cited as his primary reason for seeking time off from his demanding duties.
Official Response and Investigation
In the wake of the allegations, the local administration has taken immediate disciplinary action. The three officers named in the constable's audio message have been shunted to the Police Lines, where they will remain pending a formal departmental inquiry into their conduct.
The incident has sparked significant concern regarding the welfare and mental health support systems available to junior officers within the force. As the investigation continues, authorities are reviewing the audio evidence alongside formal complaints lodged by the constable’s grieving family members. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that a comprehensive probe has been initiated to determine the circumstances that led to this loss of life and to hold any responsible parties accountable.
