Introduction
PlayStation 5 owners looking to upgrade their audio setup can currently secure a substantial discount on premium Sony peripherals. Through a special promotion, shoppers can save 50% off Sony's Pulse Gaming Earbuds with planar magnetic technology for the PlayStation 5 by purchasing verified pre-owned units.
Originally retailed as high-end accessories tailored specifically for Sony's current-generation console, these officially licensed earbuds bring professional-grade acoustic engineering directly to everyday gamers. With inventory shifting rapidly across retail channels, bargain hunters have quickly turned their attention toward this limited-time hardware markdown.
What Happened
Amazon Resale, the official storefront for pre-owned goods managed by the retail giant, has listed used like-new units of the Pulse Explore gaming earbuds at a heavily reduced rate. Following an automatic 30% discount applied directly at checkout, the final price drops to just $100.65 accompanied by complimentary shipping.
Initial stock configurations featured the white colorway priced slightly higher before selling out entirely. Consequently, the black color variant has stepped into the spotlight, now accessible to buyers at an even more economical price point through the official resale portal.
Background
The acoustic foundation of these specialized earphones stems from Sony's official acquisition of Audeze back in 2023. By absorbing the renowned headphone manufacturer, Sony gained direct access to advanced planar magnetic transducer designs typically reserved for audiophile-grade over-ear headphones.
Implementing this complex acoustic architecture into a compact earbud format required a complete rethink of internal spatial constraints. Because planar magnetic drivers demand significantly more physical room to operate than conventional dynamic drivers, the hardware footprint is noticeably bulkier than standard mobile listening devices.

Impact
While industry reviews from hardware experts praised the exceptional audio fidelity and precise 3D positioning capabilities, critics noted the absence of conventional lifestyle functions such as active noise cancellation and transparency modes. However, these omissions were intentional design choices prioritizing acoustic performance over extraneous features.
Purchasing through Amazon Resale mitigates the typical risks associated with secondary marketplaces like Facebook Marketplace, as items arrive verified in their original packaging and backed by a standard 30-day return window.
What Happens Next
As remaining inventory for the black variant continues to deplete following the sell-out of the white units, prospective buyers must act quickly to secure the hardware at the current promotional rate. Additional future discounts or restocks of specific colorways will depend entirely on incoming inventory availability within Amazon's pre-owned distribution network.
